After 25 years of being on this earth I have come to the realization that I am a love junkie. To put it simply I love well, love. From crying at sappy commercials to reading period pieces about long lost love, I’m hooked. Which is great because I picked a profession that has me surrounded by it constantly. So as you can imagine I was very happy when my brother asked me to photograph his intimate wedding. He lives in the beautiful city of Seattle with his now wife Kay. They are beyond perfect for each other and I couldn’t have asked for a better sister-in-law. The itinerary for the day was to take the Ferry over to Bainbridge Island and have the ceremony at their friends beautiful home. After the ceremony we had champagne, wine, and homemade black sesame cookies that were terribly addicting. Then we hopped into two vans and headed to The Manor for a beautiful dinner. My family and I have moved around quite a bit, so being in the same room and celebrating matrimony was nothing short of perfection.
Whether photography chose me or I chose it, I can’t say. What I can say is that loving what you do is one of the best relationships you can have in life and I am eternally grateful that there is always love around me to capture.
